Marchand Drapier is a small editorial site, and it collects very little. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you visit.
What we collect
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs: the pages requested, the time, the browser type and an IP address. These logs are used to keep the site secure and running, and are deleted on a rolling basis.
Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and address only as long as it takes to answer you and deal with any follow-up. We do not add correspondents to mailing lists.
What we do not do
We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell or rent any personal information, and we do not build profiles of readers. There is no newsletter to unsubscribe from because there is no newsletter.
Cookies
This site sets no marketing or analytics cookies. WordPress, the software that runs the site, may set strictly functional cookies for features such as remembering a commenter’s name. These can be blocked in your browser without affecting your ability to read the site.
Outbound links
Articles sometimes link to other websites — mills, institutes, shops we mention in the course of a story. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. Email claire@marchand-drapier.com and we will respond within thirty days.
